Special exhibition 01.07 – 26.08.2017
Lace and other ladies’ crafts from the Pays-d’Enhaut

During the months of July and August an exhibition will be organised in Château-d’Oex in the venerable building of L’Etambeau with its architecture, typical of the XVII century, and its unique atmosphere!
The lace-makers of the Pays-d’Enhaut are presenting their antique and contemporary bobbin lace.
Demonstrations will be proposed as well as workshops, open to visitors who are interested in this specialised technique.
Other handiwork is also presented such as embroidery, weaving and knitting. Straw plaiting will also be displayed.
Children have not been forgotten: workshops especially suited to them are organised.
On this occasion a magnificent selection of clothes (and under-clothes) from the past will be brought out of the Museum’s reserves and exhibited.

Demonstrations will be proposed by the lacemakers throughout the time of exhibition.
On Saturdays, the ladies group of l’Etivaz, espacially active in knitting, will be present.
Cross stitch embroidery, knitting and tales will occasionally be of interest to the visitors or the children.
