This year’s exhibition accompanies the publication of a work edited by the association Pays-d’Enhaut Lieux Historiques Lieux Vivants.
In assembling some fifty works: drawings, water colours, oil and other mediums used by artists to represent the landscapes, we offer visitors the chance to admire the original pictures which are reproduced in Veronique Jacot- Wezranowska’s book.
Combining anecdotes and commentaries linked to local history, the author has highlighted the most outstanding works and underlined the evolution of artists’ sensitivity to the beauty and interest of the local landscape.
Taking into account that a reproduction, however perfect, can never do justice to the sentiments that the artist seeks to convey, the museum has the pleasure of presenting a collection of original works from different periods.
In this way admirers of our magnificent region can discover which aspects most inspired the artists who dedicated all or a part of their life to representing it.
The works exhibited give a glimpse of the wealth of this legacy, inspired by a unique landscape which has contributed to the reputation of the region.
